So, I can't believe that I didn't post the best news EVER!!!! My Michael has landed a job in Nashville!!! Yeah for him! That means that he will be coming to live with me & Oscar on a near full-time basis. Of course, anyone who knows me just said a quick prayer for Michael & wished him the best of luck - not on his job, but in living with me. I think it will be great!! So, congratulations to Michael - this was the BEST Christmas gift ever.
Speaking of Michael, he took me to meet some of his friends on Sunday. It is his friend Matt & Matt's family. They were such lovely people. It was really neat to see how much they truly love Michael & how interested they were in his life! And, I found some extra motivation to post new blogs, thanks to Jennifer - Matt's sister!! (See - you finally embarrassed me into posting something new.)
Michael & I went back to the 'Nati to see my family on Christmas. The twins were there - whom I absolutely adore. I don't know how it's possible, but they actually get cuter each time I see them. Let me share the best moment of the day (filled with great moments.) The family had just returned from eating brunch & Dax, Lisa, Nicky, Olivia, Michael & me were all going to the park & just taking a short detour to Dax & family's home. They had an inflatable Rudolph on their lawn & the twins claimed Rudolph melted all of the time. Dax inflated Rudolph for their amusement - which made everyone pretty happy. (Well, it made the twins happy, which made me happy, so that's close enough to everyone, right????) Regardless, Michael & I got in my car, watching Rudolph inflate. Dax turned off Rudolph and there was sweet Olivia holding Rudolph around the neck as he melted. The sight was simply magical & sweet. Michael & I glance at each other, enjoying the childlike innocence in front of us. We turned back to Olivia, to find one arm still wrapped around Rudolph and the other punching Rudolph in the face! Then, she turned on him and starting to beat his head down, following that with a swift kick. Michael & I half-expected her to pile drive the melting Rudolph, but just as soon as it began, the violence ended.... Maybe she has a future in security??? (Oh Randy....) So much for the cute kid though.
My first season as a fantasy football player has now ended. Sadly, I didn't win, as I had originally projected earlier in the year. I came in 2nd, which was good for a $40 payout. However, hear me out on how I lost - The final match-up was between me & The Unsportsmanlikes, my nemesis from earlier in the season. (He had totally humiliated me in # of points he scored.) So, my final score, going into the Monday night game, was 96. His was 89 & he was playing the Chicago "D". With 18 seconds left in the game, his "D" blocks a punt to score 7 points. (Chicago went on to defeat GB that evening in OT.) Wait?? That means we are tied??? Oh man - so the 1st tiebreaker is total number of TDs scored by entire starting lineup. I have a total of 7 & he has a total of 7. WHAT??????? We are tied again???? Okay, onto the 2nd tiebreaker, which is the total number of fantasy points scored by our starting QBs. I have a total of 26 & he has a total of 27. Bah-dum-dum-dum. Game over. I lose. By one lousy point. Hmmm, time to refine my strategy to come back even stronger next year??? Only if Michael will agree to put up Miss Crazy Pants for another 16 weeks of fantasy mania.
Well, I think that's about it. I hope that everyone has a safe & Happy New Year!!!! Thanks so much for reading in the inaugural year of this blog!!!
